- Remarks:
Her mother died on the 17th March 1830, 3 days after Johanna's birth. Johanna's father remarries later that same year.
It is probable that her mother passed away as a result of birth complications and that she was then taken in by Magdalena UYS and when Magdalena married Johannes Stephanus a year later she was adopted by them.
In her will, Magdalena Margaretha UYS indicates Johanna Cathrina REDELINGHUYS as her "daughter", married to Jacobus Arnoldus STEYN (A Cousin on the Joubert side)
