All the stock and goods brought up in my claim marked A.B. & C. is correct and were taken and destroyed by the British as mentioned in my claim. All were my bona fide property. No loot. I never got anything back of the above. I also never received any payment or receipts for same. S.M.M Joubert Before me this 15th day of July 1903 Wakkerstoom Susanna Maria Grove (Witness), Rooipoort. Sworn & States: I was present when the following stock and goods were taken by the British troops. All the bona fide property of Mrs. S.M.M Joubert: 110 sheep at Rooipoort on the 23 July 1901. About 30 bags of mealies. 35 Fowls. 1 bag of Peas. 10 pigs. On same place and date when sheep were taken. Further on the same place and same time the British took and destroyed the following ?? bona fide property of Mrs. S Joubert: 3 tables. 1 sofa. 6 chairs. 1 Large wardrobe. 4 pots. 2 buckets. 3 Bedsteads. Jug & Basin. 2 Kettles. 3 Breadpans. 5 irons (Smoothing). 1 Box. I saw all this done. As far as I know Mrs. Joubert never got anything back of the above. S.M. Grove Before me this the 15 day July 1903 at Wakkerstroom. ?? - A - Handed in 13/11/1901. Compensation claim - Supplies. Taken by British troops at farm Rooipoort Ward 2 District Wakkerstroom on 23rd July 1901. 110 sheep @ £1-00 each = £110-00 I the undersigned do hereby swear and declare that the abovementioned sheep were my bona fide property taken by British Troops at Farm Rooipoort, Ward 2, district Wakkerstroom on 23rd July 1901; that I came under British Protection since the 5th August 1900; that I reside on Farm Rooipoort, Ward 2, district Wakkerstroom; and at present reside in Burgher Camp Volksrust and that my full name is Susanna Maria Magdalina Joubert. S.M.M Joubert This sworn before me on this the 11th day of November 1901 at Volksrust. - B - Compensation claim - Supplies Destroyed and Killed by British troops on 23rd July 1901 at farm Rooipoort Ward 2 District Wakkerstroom . 30 Bags Milies @ 15/- per bag £22-10 35 Fowls @ 3/- per bag £5-50 1 Bag of Peas £1-007 10 Pigs @ £2-0-0 = £20-0-0 I the undersigned do hereby swear and declare that the abovementioned supplies were my bona fide property; that I came under British Protection since the 5th August 1900; that above supplies were destroyed and killed by British Troops on Farm Rooipoort Ward 2 district Wakkerstroom on 23rd July 1901; that I reside on abovementioned Farm and at present reside in Burgher Camp Volksrust; and that my full name is Susanna Maria Magdalina Joubert.
