Christoffel Beukman (born 1800), a grandson of Christoffel Bockmann, married Magdelena Margaretha van Zyl in 1823. The young couple moved to Bosjesmansdrift, now Boesmansdrif, in the Breederiver valley.
The Beukman HistoryIn 1740 Christoffel Böckmann arrived at the Cape from Quakenbruck, Westphalia. After he left the service of the VOC he ran the postal coach service on the old ' Kaapse Wapad' along the Riviersonderend to Swellendam.
He married Elizabeth Margaretha Niemand in 1756 and had six children. Later he acquired a piece of the farm Vaandrigtsdrift where he died in 1799. His descendants farmed on the farms Vaandrigtsdrif, Klipfontein and Potjieskraal along the Riviersonderend until the late 19th century.

The farm of 6 746 morgen, a loan farm, was granted to a Morkel of Stellenbosch who farmed with livestock, mostly goats. Christoffel Beukman was a shepherd on Morkel's farm until 1843. With the help of his wife, his brother and his brother's wife he built a house on the banks of the Breederiver.
His descendants are still living in the house.
In 1843 the leasehold of the farm Bosjesmanspad was granted to six farmers.
Christoffel Beukman became the leaseholder of the eastern section of 1 125 morgen.
With the lapse of the leasehold in 1873 the land was granted to him in permanent leasehold.
He died in 1882 and was buried in the cemetery on the farm where his farther, Christoffel (born 1760), who lived with his son on the farm was buried in 1845.
Five generations of Beukmans are buried in the cemetery on the farm.
The present Beukman is the seventh generation living on the farm.
