  Notes	In her will and death notice, Magdalena Margaretha UYS indicates Johanna Cathrina REDELINGHUYS as her "daughter", married to Jacobus Arnoldus STEYN, nephew of her husband. She also names her "son-in-law" Jacobus Arnoldus STEYN and her son Johannes Stephanus as joint executors of the estate. Johanna Catharina's birth year is given as 1830, just a couple of days before her mother's death. It is probable that her mother passed away as a result of birth complications and that she was then taken in by Magdalena and adopted by Magdalena and Johannes Stephanus after they got married a year later. Her surname in the death notice reference on the NAAIRS archive search system is incorrectly indicated as "SMITH" Her relationship to famous Piet "Italeni" UYS and Dirkie UYS: they are 2nd cousins 1x time removed Bequests her 1/7th part of "erfpacht" farm "Bruintjes Rivier gelegen over de berg" as well as 100 sheep, goats and furniture to her heirs.
